The Pupil Premium is additional funding from the government, given to schools to help close the attainment gap between children from low income families and other disadvantaged families and their peers.

We encourage all parents and carers to check if you think your child may be entitled to Free School Meals because of your family's income level or if they have a parent who is a member of the armed services. If you are unsure please contact the School Office (in confidence) and they can help you to register your child. Even if you do not wish them to have meals, by registering them the school could still claim the Pupil Premium Funding that can then be used to help your child.

Parents in receipt of the following benefits can register their child for Free School Meals:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you're not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
